With Joan, you can simultaneously listen, read, and watch presentations , tapping into your most effective perception channel for optimal comfort and performance.
Solving the Problem
Introducing Joan Holloway Demo. We have built it based on LabLab.ai company materials as an example. LabLab.ai is an initiative designed to support and stimulate the modern artificial intelligence ecosystem by collaborating with AI company creators and hosting hackathons. LabLab hosts between 2 and 5 hackathons per month , reaching up to 7,000 participants and receiving 100 submissions per hackathon. Currently , there are already more than 600 video clips , each 5 minutes long. Watching all of them would require more than 50 hours of your time, which none of us can afford. Therefore , we have set up an automatic conversion of LabLab contents data to Joan , where you can read the content or watch the video presentations much faster. Joan Holloway simplifies the analysis of submissions for judges, provides mobility in handling this huge amount of data , and stores it all in one place for LabLab.

In the Joan Holloway Demo, you can see all the hackathons that were hosted on LabLab.ai. Each hackathon has its own submissions , and when you navigate to a specific hackathon, you can see all the projects that were submitted there. Each project page has a sidebar with page contents, generated text based on the video transcript, slides, and a search header .
- Titles: The titles are automatically generated from the video recordings and give a general idea of the presentation. They allow you to quickly jump to the desired part of the video with a single click.
- Slides : The slides are automatically highlighted from the video. You can scroll through them and find the specific segment you are interested in. Clicking on a slide takes you to the exact moment in the video and displays the corresponding text. The video playback is displayed in place of the current slide. You can start or stop playback directly within the video.
- Sidebar: If you want to view a larger slide or see more slides , you can change the size of the sidebar by dragging it.
- Video Transcript: The video transcript is automatically divided into logical paragraphs with added headings. This view is convenient for quickly acquainting yourself with the text. Clicking on the text takes you to the corresponding point in the video and displays the slide on the right. Double-clicking allows you to start or stop playback from the specific moment. This functionality also applies to titles and slides.
- Search: The search function is standard and based on Microsoft Cognitive Search . It can easily find the video you're interested in.
Additionally, there is a document structure panel that allows you to quickly navigate to the document of interest and folders of your organization .
